Are you, are you, coming to the tree? They strung up a man, they said who murdered three'. This 'singing ringing tree' is a superb sculpture above Burnley in Lancashire. The various tubes and pipes create a musical (wailing!) effect as the air blows through them which is always changing depending on the direction and strength of the wind. It's a strange place for a night shoot as it creates eerie sounds (and it's always windy). Taken in the autumn just after light snowfall.
Taken in the Italian Dolomites after a period of heavy rain. Several streams converged to create a beautiful little waterfall, flowing over the lush green vegetation.
Here the rare Lady Slipper Orchid can be seen up close. The name calceolus derives from the Latin for 'shoe', and refers to the slipper like appearance of the pouch. Here the flower was partially lit creating some beautiful light on the surrounding petals. Taken with a Nikon 105mm Micro.
